Elliot embarked on his career in Newcastle in 2007 and has continuously pursued professional growth. In 2016, he established his own business, which has since experienced significant expansion, with offices located at The Junction (Newcastle), Maitland (HQ), and Singleton. In 2020, Elliot further expanded the firm’s offerings, introducing Watson Mortgages (mortgage broking) and Watson Legal (specialising in aged care, taxation law, and estate planning). To enhance his ability to serve clients comprehensively, Elliot obtained a mortgage broker license in 2022.

Passionate about growing the Watson Wealth group and making a positive impact on the people of the Hunter Valley, Elliot actively seeks talented professionals to join his team. Elliot is an appointed Justice of the Peace (JP) in NSW.

As a JP he is authorised to exercise the functions conferred by or under the Justices of the Peace Act, the Oaths Act or any other NSW Act as required.

Elliot was awarded the NSW Charter of Financial Planning Value of Advice Award in 2013. He won the award for the professional services and assistance he provided to a former police officer who had suffered Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

Due to their illness Elliot’s client was unable to continue employment as a police officer. This resulted in significant financial stress. Elliot was asked to review the client’s financial circumstances and quickly identified a lump sum saving of $70,000 and a tax benefit. This translated into a hefty $500,000 saving over the client’s life expectancy. More importantly, the advice allowed Elliot’s client to get on with living their life without financial burden. The advice dramatically changed the client’s financial outlook. Elliot feels proud to have been able to help the client and make such a difference to their future financial wellbeing.
